Prachi Dixit Group from USA in a Special Evening of Dance

Memorable evening adorned with Kathak dance at Pracheen Kala Kendra

In a special program organized by Pracheen Kala Kendra, Prachi Dixit and her group from America enthralled the audience with their Kathak dance performance. Prachi received her dance training and learned the intricacies of Kathak dance under the guidance of Pandit Kanhaiya Lal Ji. Prachi is also the founder of Nupur Dance Academy in America and runs an affiliated center of Pracheen Kala Kendra. She has won the hearts of the audience with her various performances. Prachi is doing wonderful work in promoting Indian art abroad.

The program began with a devotional composition, Shiva Vandana. This was followed by a lyrical composition based on Krishna poems, which were composed by her guru. After this, her group presented the technical aspects of Kathak dance. They skillfully demonstrated their strong command over the technical aspects by presenting Paran, Gat, Uthan, Chalein, Amad, Tripalli, Pramilu, Tihai and Chakradar Paran based on Vilambit, Madhya and Drut laya in Teen Taal. Following this, they presented a beautiful composition based on the emotional aspect, Krishna and Kali, which depicted a timeless dialogue between two divine forces - Krishna and Kali. Krishna represents Maya - the beauty and illusion of the world that draws us in through joy, love, and bliss. His flute enchants the soul, reminding us why existence feels meaningful and captivating. Kali, on the other hand, fierce and unwavering, symbolizes Shakti - raw power, time, and change. She shatters illusions, bringing awakening where comfort cannot remain. Although they appear opposite, they are not in conflict. They are divine complements.

Where Krishna awakens joy, Kali brings awareness. Where Krishna maintains illusion, Kali reveals the truth.

Together, they guide the soul from illusion to liberation, from pleasure to purpose. 

This presentation is inspired by David R. Kinsley's book, "The Sword and the Flute: Kali and Krishna," from Hindu mythology.

At the end of the program, the artists were honored with flowers, shawls, and mementos.

The scorching heat with scorching sun is now gone and the season of sweet winter has started knocking. It can be felt in the morning and evening. People have also seen the color of drizzle to torrential rain once again. In such a pleasant weather, a series of musical events has started across the country. To make people feel this, Prachin Kala Kendra also organized its special event in Chandigarh.

In the 299th episode of the series of monthly meetings organized every month by Prachin Kala Kendra, Shri Bandopadhyay from Delhi delighted the audience with his Kathak dance. Shri, who is learning dance under the guidance of Pandit Jaikishan Maharaj, received her initial dance lessons from Guru Sandeep Malik. After this, she learned the nuances of dance from Pandit Jaikishan Maharaj. Shri has also received Bhaskar's diploma from Ancient Art Center. Apart from this, she has also received postgraduate education from Khairagarh University. Doordarshan's B grade artist is also the founder of Shri Sadhna School of Kathak. She has made a place in the hearts of the audience with her various performances.

Today's program started with a beautiful Dhrupad composition Kunjan Mein Racho Raas which was based on Chautal. After this, Shri presented the technical aspects of Kathak. She demonstrated her strong grip on the technical aspects by presenting Ashtamangal 11 matra Paran, Gat, Uthan, Chale, Aamad, Tripalli, Pramilu, Tihai and Chakradar Paran. After this, he presented a thumri based on Teen Taal which was set in Raga Megh Malhar and received a lot of applause from the audience. At the end of the program, Shri concluded the program with beautiful rhythms by presenting compositions based on Teen Taal and instrumental instruments Paran, Bijli Paran. Along with him, famous tabla player Ustad Shakeel Ahmed Khan on tabla, Atul Devesh on singing, Lavanya Abande on sitar and Jai Bhatt on bol padhant made the program more beautiful.

At the end of the program, the center's registrar Dr. Shobha Kausar, secretary Shri Sajal Kausar honored the artists by giving them uttiya and memento.
